Grab a camera or your phone and join a photographer for a guided photo walk through Highwood. This is not about being an accomplished photographer. It is about learning to look. Along the way, participants will turn their lenses toward Highwood's businesses, residences, architecture, streetscapes and some of the people they encounter, while learning how composition, perspective and light can turn an everyday scene into an interesting photograph. A doorway, an unusual roofline, light hitting a storefront, an interesting face or a detail you have passed countless times can look entirely different when you stop long enough to notice it. Participants will also learn a little about the businesses, buildings, and people they photograph.
It is part photography, part exploration, and a fitting Design Week reminder that good design often begins by noticing the details around us.
